A SMALL CHANGE FOR A BIG CHANGE

This project called "Our Sustainable Green Dream School" (osgds) talks about of how we can change our school to a greener school, to do scale models, to choose the best for doing this school better, all this year we are studying, searching and reading how we can do it, this project is the future of Abraham Lincoln School, This project is the future of the environment. Some people think that we have to change it. Before this project some people here think that this school was sustainable but not, so the Miss of English said that we have to do this project, to improve.

I think this school is not sustainable, others said the opposite and others said that yes & no, we did a circle graph of how many people said this school is sustainable, this school is not sustainable or the both, it was negatively bad, because the mayority of people said this school was not sustainable because we don't have led lights, solar panels, we use so much energy etc... The people that said that this school was sustainable were few, and the people that said the both were also few because we have some sustainable things but also some things that are not sustainable.

But we also think this school doesn't need so many changes, because we have big windows, we use recycling boxes, we have agood social aspect and also a good economical aspect because we don't use so much mony, in fact this school is sustainable and we dont have to do so many changes, and if we do so many changes to do a sustainable school we will have to use to much money and  we won't have the economical aspect the school need.

The thing that we should have to do is to increase the environmental aspect because we use so much energy and we need to implement more sustainable things. We have done the social aspect very good so we don't need to improve this aspect and also the economical aspect because we have done a good job in this aspect. A recommendation is to: when we increase  the environmental aspect, don't use so much money because then we won't have the economic aspect. In conclusion we need only a small change to have a sustainable green dream school for the future of the school, for the future of Colombia, for the future of the planet.

OUR VISIT TO ROCHESTER SCHOOL

The Rochester School is a sustainable school here in Bogota, is very big, it has solar panels, a plant wastewater treatment etc...

IN WHAT ARE THEY WORKING NOW?

They are currently working on the construction of the first "Environmental & Social Curriculum" for the year 2014-2015, basing on what was achieved for this school year, taking into account the school premises, our LEED certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), the wishes of the rochesteriana community guidelines NAAEE (North American Association for Environmental Education) and the 4 principles of sustainability given by "The Natural Step".

What is your idea for a sustainable school?

A sustainable school is a school in which environmental, social and economic isues  are balanced. Is a school were the education costs are low because it saves costs from energy and other resources like water. Those savings comes from solar panels that reduce the electric energy used in the classrooms and offices.

A sustainable school has its own crops for supply the restaurant also a sustainable school has social projects for helping disadvantaged communities.

Which idea do you like the most?

The idea of the big windows for don't use the lights, Because if we don't use lights we won't use energy and it will be sustainable and it won't cost so much.

Will you do it?

Yes, Because if our school don't care about water, contamination and pollution then the world will be contaminated, but if we do our school sustainable the planet will be save and good. Also I will do it for helping disadvantaged communities.

How I imagine my green dream school?

My green dream school has green zones that are very important in the vision of the school.

Also, led ilumination that is required todont use so many energy for the school

And my school has recycle boxes that then all the paper that is there we can used for do bottle bricks.


What is a bottle brick?

A bottle brick is an other thing that I will used for my school, it is a bottle that inside there are trash and then we dont used bricks, used bottles that is recycling and almost use less money.

Also,  use eco glasses that  are dont desechable so we dont bye glasses each day.


And use the water of the rain to make energy for the lights the computers and also used for the water for the sinks.

My school will have very big windows for doesnt use so much the lights and for used less energy for the green school.

Also, green roofs
the most important function of a green roof is protection against water and basking, and like all the ceilings, is composed of different layers, each with a specific function.

YESTERDAY LUCHO SAID TO US WY IS IMPORTANT TO SAVE WATER AND TO DON'T USE IT VERY MUCH.

AND KNOW WE KNOW THAT EVERY DROP COUNTS, A LOT OF PEOPLE IS DYING BECAUSE THE WATER ALMOST THE AFRICANS THAT THEY DONT HAVE WATER AND SOME ENTERPRISES LIKE COCA COLA AND NESTLE ARE USING A LOT OF WATER FOR THEIR PRODUCTS AND THE WORLD IS GETTING WITH NOT WATER.


NOT ALSO COCA COLA AND NESTLE ARE USING THE WATER ALSO US, THAT WE ARE CONTAMINATING THE WATER BY THROWING TRASH TO THE SEA LAKES AND OTHER PLACES THAT ARE CONTAMINATING.

AND BECAUSE THAT CONTAMINATION THE ANIMALS ARE LOOSING THEIR LIVE LIKE FISHES, SHARKS AND OTHER ANIMALS THAT ARE DYING BECAUSE WE ARE CONTAMINATING THE WATER.

SO, BE CAREFULL BECAUSE EVERY DROP COUNTS AND IN THE FUTURE WE DONT KNOW THAT IN THE FUTUTRE THE WAR WILL BE FOR THE WATER AND WE ARE GOING TO DIE BECAUSE THE THINGS WE ARE DOING.

                                                      CARTAGENA FILM FESTIVAL

Is aColombian film festival in which focuses in colombian television programs, latinoamerican films and videos. 

The Cartagena Film Festival is the oldest film festival in latinoamerica and is held every March.

The Cartagena Film Festival was founded in 1960 in Cartagena, Colombia by someone called Victor Nieto but nieto died at the age of 92 years old in November of 2008.So, now the director of theCartagena Film Festival is Lina Paola Rodriguez and will remain acting director following Vistor Nieto's death. Also this Cartagena Film Festival had showed in a program called TLC where the president of Colombia Juan Manuel Santos started to talk about Cartagena and The Cartagena Film Festival.

Its origin is also rooted in the rituals performed by the Quillacingas, an agrarian culture, which, at harvest time danced honoring the moon and prayed to the sun, asking protection for their crops.

Lanterns' Festival

The lanterns' festival is celebrated on China to celebrate the New year in the lunar calendar. During the Lantern Festival, children go out at night to temples carrying paper lanterns and solve riddles on the lanterns. There are many different beliefs about the origin of the Lantern Festival.One legend tells us that it was a time to worship Taiyi, the God of Heaven in ancient times. The belief was that the God of Heaven controlled the destiny of the human world. Beginning with Quinshijuang, the first emperor of China, who named China, all the emperors ordered splendid ceremonies each year. The emperor would ask Taiyi to bring favorable weather and good health to him and his people.

Río Carnival

The Carnaval in Rio de Janeiro is a world famous festival held before Lent every year and considered the biggest carnival in the world with two million people per day on the streets. The first festivals of Rio date back to 1823.The typical Rio carnival parade is filled with revelers, floats and adornments from numerous samba schools which are located in Rio.As the parade is taking place in the Sambodromo and the balls are being held in the Copacabana Palace and beach, many of the carnival participants are at other locations. Street festivals are very common during carnival and are highly populated by the locals.
